Aim

This meeting is a continuation of ten previous workshops held in 1985, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004.
As done in the past, the aim of the upcoming meeting is to present and discuss up-to-date science relevant to the rapidly advancing field of skeletal biology, both in health and disease.

Format

The workshop will focus on a series of

Keynote Lectures summing up the most important topics in the field today,

10 minutes Oral Presentations that will be chosen from the abstracts of the posters on the whole field of skeletal biology. The selection of the presentations will be made from submitted abstracts ahead of the meeting but also ad hoc during the poster sessions. Ample time will be set aside for discussion after each presentation.

The Poster Sessions shall remain the fundamental pillar of the meeting and will cover all the fields of skeletal biology.

Venue

The workshop will be held at the Congress Center in Davos. It will start on Saturday March 18, 2006, at 4.30 – 6 pm with a Welcome Drink, followed by the Opening Lecture from 6 to 7 pm and will end on Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at 8 pm. Morning sessions will last from 8.15 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions are scheduled from 4.15 to 8.00 p.m., whereas evenings are available for ad hoc fireside discussions.

Davos is located in the mountains of Graubünden and can be reached in a 3 hour train ride or 2 hour drive from Zurich. It is well known for its skiing, both alpine (Parsenn) and cross-country, and other winter sports facilities which should all be excellent at the time of the workshop.
